Quality control in the endoplasmic reticulum (ER) ensures that only properly folded proteins are retained in the cell through recognition and degradation of misfolded or unassembled proteins. Additionally we are shipping EDEM3 Proteins (3) and many more products for this protein.

The data corroborated herein suggest that besides ER residents, EDEM3 interacts also with proteins involved in the ERAD cargo recognition and targeting to degradation translocation into the cytosol, including UBA1 (show UBA1 Antibodies) and UBA2 (show UBA2 Antibodies) ubiquitinating enzymes. In addition, the results indicate that this network of EDEM3 interactors is highly sensitive to interfering with early ER N-glycan processing.
EDEM3 has alpha1,2-mannosidase (show MAN1A2 Antibodies) activity in vivo, suggesting that the mechanism whereby EDEM3 accelerates glycoprotein ERAD is different from that of EDEM (show EDEM1 Antibodies)
Quality control in the endoplasmic reticulum (ER) ensures that only properly folded proteins are retained in the cell through recognition and degradation of misfolded or unassembled proteins. EDEM3 belongs to a group of proteins that accelerate degradation of misfolded glycoproteins in the ER (Hirao et al., 2006
