  1. GRSF1 positively regulates degradosome-dependent decay of non-coding mitochondrial transcripts that form G4 structures. Comprehensive molecular analyses revealed that GRSF1 melts G4 RNA structures in mtRNAs, which facilitates their degradation by the hSuv3-PNPase complex both in vitro and in vivo.
