Human Mouse Un-conjugated ICC, IF, WB Western Blot: Nestin Antibody (4D11) [NBP1-92717] - Western blot in of developing rat brain (P18) homogenate probe with NBP1-92717. A single strong band running at ~240kDa is seen. Immunocytochemistry/Immunofluorescence: Nestin Antibody (4D11) [NBP1-92717] - Mixed cultures of neonatal rat neurons and glia stained with NBP1-92717 (red), chicken antibody to Vimentin (ABIN4338652, green) and DNA (DAPI stain, blue). Astrocytes and neuronal stem cells stain strongly and specifically in a clearly filamentous fashion with the Nestin (4D11) antibody. The filamentous staining pattern is as expected as both Nestin and Vimentin are components of 10nm filaments. Note that some cells contain Nestin, but do not stain strongly for Vimentin and so appear red. Others contain Vimentin and not Nestin and so appear green - these are likely to be fibroblastic or endothelial cells. Some cells express both proteins and so appear yellowish. 0.1 mL Log in to see 7 to 9 Days

  1. Nestin stabilizes lamin A-C for maintaining nuclear integrity and protecting tumor cells from senescence.

  2. We found an increased expression of Nestin and GAP43 (growth associated protein 43) in treated cells. In conclusion, Periodontal ligament mesenchymal stem cells (hPDLSCs) treated with Moringin and Cannabidiol showed an improved survival capacity and neuronal differentiation potential

  3. Melatonin disturbs SUMOylation-mediated crosstalk between c-Myc and nestin via MT1 activation and promotes the sensitivity of paclitaxel in brain cancer stem cells.

  4. Data indicated that nestin regulated NF-kappa B (NF-kappaB) activity in foetal spinal cord tissues.

  5. Nestin, originally identified as a marker of neural stem cells, was demonstrated to be expressed in breast cancer (BC). In normal breast tissue, nestin is expressed in the basal/myoepithelial cells. In BC, nestin identifies basal-like tumors and predicts aggressive behavior and poor prognosis. Also, it is been detected in BC stem cells and newly-formed tumor vessels promoting invasion and metastasis. [review]

  6. This review presents the current knowledge on the role of Nestin in essential stem cell functions, including self-renewal/proliferation, differentiation and migration, in the context of the cytoskeleton. [review]

  7. Results showed that nestin was expressed in various tissues of the embryo in patients with placenta previa, and nestin expression decreased as the embryo matured.

  8. In summary, Nestin was strongly associated with germline BRCA1 related breast cancer, a basal-like phenotype, reduced survival, and stemness characteristics.

  9. this meta-analysis indicated both CD133 and Nestin expression were significantly associated with advanced FIGO stage, larger size of residual cancer in EOC patients.

  10. Nestin expression in breast tumour cells is associated with enhanced angiogenesis and poor prognosis.

  11. results suggest that nestin might be a reliable marker for angiogenesis evaluation in patients with colorectal cancer. In contrast to CD34, the expression of nestin in blood vessels seems to be a more sensitive marker of cancer progression

  12. Benign and borderline lesions more frequently than malignant ovarian tumors displayed low or medium values of nestin-positive microvessel density. Significant correlations between PDGF-B and nestin expression in malignant tumor microvessels were also found.

  13. Nestin silencing inhibits proliferation and migration of malignant melanoma cells via G1/S arrest in a Akt-GSK3beta-Rb pathway.

  15. Nestin expression was significantly higher in large cell neuroendocrine carcinomas.

  16. nestin expression in vessels was associated with a shorter overall survival (OS) and earlier relapse, and in the case of OS nestin was an independent prognostic factor. Finally, we further confirmed that nestin expression in endothelial cells reflects a progenitor nature of newly forming vessels.

  17. nestin may be a novel therapeutic target for tumor angiogenesis and a combination therapy that includes nestin-targeting agents may be an effective therapeutic approach. In addition, detection of Nestin/stem cells and Nestin/MVD can be used as predictors of disease

  18. Knockdown of Nestin significantly reduced tumor volume in vivo.

  19. Nestin plays an important role in the prediction of the clinicopathology and poor prognosis of glioma patients.

  20. The authors found that high/positive SOX2 alterations, either DNA amplification or protein expression, were favorable for overall survival (OS) in non-small cell lung cancer. On the contrary, high/positive Nestin protein expression was poor for OS.

  5. These results indicate that the first intron enhancer may be activated in differentiated odontoblasts. Intriguingly, Nestin-GFP expression in the subodontoblastic layer was found to be restricted to the coronal pulp of molars, which is susceptible to tooth injuries.

  6. These results reveal that nestin deficiency generates a spontaneous regenerative phenotype in skeletal muscle that relates to a disturbed proliferation cycle that is associated with uncontrolled Cdk5 activity.

  7. Nestin promotesneural progenitor cells (NPCs) proliferation via p38-MAPK and EGFR pathways, and reveals the necessity of these pathways in NPCs self-renewal.

  8. the loss of Nestin(+) cells might be an etiology to DCM pathogenesis, and these cells could be a promising candidate cell source for study and treatment of DCM patients

  9. Nestin regulates neural stem cell migration via controlling the cell contractility

  11. The nestin(+) cells contribute to all subsets of the complex stromal populations that can be found in lymph nodes.

  12. nestin may label progenitor cells during inner ear development and may not be a stem cell marker in the mature organ of Corti

  13. Nestin(+) cells are one important type of progenitor cell in bone marrow and are associated with bone remodeling. These data indicate that DMP1 plays negative roles in differentiation of Nestin(+) cells and bone formation.
