Data indicate that suppressor of IKKepsilon (show IKBKE Proteins) (SIKE) inhibits TANK-binding kinase 1 (TBK1 (show TBK1 Proteins))-mediated phosphorylation of interferon regulatory factor 3 (IRF3 (show IRF3 Proteins)), which is essential to type I interferon (show IFNA Proteins) production.
Overexpression of SIKE inhibits virus- and Toll-like receptor 3 (show TLR3 Proteins)-triggered interferon (show IFNA Proteins)-stimulated response elements (ISRE) but not NF-kappa B (show NFKB1 Proteins) activation.
