    Comment

Anti-Synaptotagmin pT202 (Rabbit) antibody is tested for use in Western Blotting and ICC. Expect a band of approximately 60-62 kDa in size corresponding to synaptotagmin protein phosphorylated at Thr202 in the appropriate cell lysate or extract. Researchers should determine optimal titers for applications that are not stated below

    Background

    Synonyms: SytI, p65

Background: Synaptotagmin 1 pT202 Antibody detects Synaptotagmin 1, which is a synaptic vesicle membrane glycoprotein that is widely expressed throughout the CNS. It is generally thought to act as the Ca2+ sensor in the regulation of exocytosis and neurotransmitter release. Recent studies indicate that synaptotagmin's Ca2+ mediated binding of SNAP25 is essential for the Ca2+ dependent triggering of membrane fusion. It has recently been demonstrated that discrete residues within the c(2)b binding domain of synaptotagmin 1 independently specify endocytic rate and synaptic vesicle size. Synaptotagmin can be phosphorylated by multiple protein kinases and this may play a key role in modulation of synaptotagmin's ability to influence both the exocytotic and endocytotic components of synaptic transmission. Anti-Synaptotagmin 1 pT202 Antibody is ideal for investigators involved in Cell Signaling, Neuroscience, Signal Transduction research.
