CADM2 SNPs were associated with lifetime cannabis use, but the association did not reach genome-wide significance. [Meta-Analysis]
A significant association was observed for the single-nucleotide polymorphism (SNP) rs17518584 and in the joint discovery and replication meta-analysis in an intron of the gene cell adhesion molecule 2 (CADM2) for performance on the LDST/DSST.
Cox (show COX8A ELISA Kits) regression analysis indicated that CADM2 expression level, tumor size, tumor number, vascular invasion, HBsAg were independent risk factors for HCC (show FAM126A ELISA Kits) recurrence
Thus, we conclude that CADM2 functions as a novel tumor suppressor and may serve as a potential therapeutic target for human renal cell carcinoma.
The results indicated that CADM2 is one of the pathogenic factors for psoriasis.
Its expression is regulated in part by promoter methylation and implicates CADM-2 as a previously unrecognized tumor suppressor gene in a proportion of human prostate cancers.
This gene encodes a member of the synaptic cell adhesion molecule 1 (SynCAM) family which belongs to the immunoglobulin (Ig) superfamily. The encoded protein has three Ig-like domains and a cytosolic protein 4.1 binding site near the C-terminus. Proteins belonging to the protein 4.1 family crosslink spectrin and interact with other cytoskeletal proteins. Multiple transcript variants encoding different isoforms have been found for this gene.
