High ALDH1A1 expression may be a prognostic indicator of survival in patients with gastric neuroendocrine carcinoma
In this review, we elevated the role of ALDH to be a potential marker to define and distinguish hematopoietic stem cells and leukemia stem cells and its importance in prognosis and target therapy in AML (show RUNX1 Proteins) patients
Quercetin suppressed breast cancer stem cell proliferation, self-renewal, and invasiveness. It also lowered the expression levels of proteins related to tumorigenesis and cancer progression, such as aldehyde dehydrogenase 1A1, C-X-C chemokine receptor type 4 (show CXCR4 Proteins), mucin 1 (show MUC1 Proteins), and epithelial cell adhesion molecules.
Basing on the available evidence, this meta-analysis showed that high levels of ALDH1 expression correlate with worse OS and PFS in ovarian cancer patients.
Data suggested that ALDH1A1 may be an independent prognostic indicator and a new molecular biomarker for diagnosis in B-cell non-Hodgkin's lymphoma.
findings suggested that ALDH1 played an important role in treatment response and the tumor-promoting microenvironment in OSCC
NFATc2 (show NFAT1 Proteins) enhances tumor-initiating phenotypes through the NFATc2 (show NFAT1 Proteins)/SOX2 (show SOX2 Proteins)/ ALDH1A1 axis in lung adenocarcinoma.
significant association between ALDH1A1 expressions with Gleason score indicates the potential role of this protein in PCa (show FLVCR1 Proteins) tumorigenesis and aggressive behavior; therefore, this cancer stem cell marker can be used as a promising candidate for targeted therapy of PCa (show FLVCR1 Proteins), especially those with high Gleason score
this study identified TAZ (show TAZ Proteins) as a novel inducer of lung cancer stem cells and the first transcriptional activator of the stem cell marker ALDH1A1
these findings indicate that ALDH1 can be prognosis prediction markers for urinary tract carcinomas
analysis of bioactivation of nitroglycerin by purified mitochondrial and cytosolic aldehyde dehydrogenases ALDH1 and ALDH2 (show ALDH2 Proteins)
Data indicate involvement of non-POU domain-containing octamer-binding protein (NONO (show NONO Proteins))/paraspeckle protein component 1 (PSPC1 (show PSPC1 Proteins))-aldehyde dehydrogenase 1 (NONO (show NONO Proteins)/PSPC1 (show PSPC1 Proteins)-ALDH1A1) in the modulation of Sertoli cells (SCs (show TWIST1 Proteins)) response to mono-(2-ethylhexyl) phthalate (MEHP) challenge.
In ovaries lacking ALDH1A1, the onset of germ cell meiosis is delayed.
Dioxin receptor regulates aldehyde dehydrogenase to block melanoma tumorigenesis and metastasis
these experiments reveal an evolutionarily conserved GABA synthesis pathway mediated by aldehyde dehydrogenase 1a1 (ALDH1a1).
Respiratory tract epithelial cells express retinaldehyde dehydrogenase ALDH1A and enhance IgA production by stimulated B cells in the presence of vitamin A.
Dkk-1 (show DKK1 Proteins) enhances resistance of osteosarcoma cells to stress by tipping balance of Wnt (show WNT2 Proteins) signaling in favor of the non-canonical Jun (show JUN Proteins)-mediated Wnt (show WNT2 Proteins) pathways. In turn, this results in transcriptional activation of ALDH1 through Jun (show JUN Proteins)-responsive promoter elements.
Deletion of Aldh1a1 exacerbated alpha-synuclein-mediated DA neurodegeneration and alpha-synuclein aggregation, whereas Aldh1a1-null and control DA neurons were comparably susceptible to 1-methyl-4-phenylpyridinium-, glutamate (show GRIN1 Proteins)-, or camptothecin-induced cell death.
Our findings indicated that increased expression of ALDH1A1 in nasopharyngeal carcinoma was associated with enhanced invasiveness in the nude mouse.
PSMB8 (show PSMB8 Proteins), ALDH1A1, and HSPA4 (show HSPA4 Proteins) were identified to be located in ovarian tissues, to regulate 12 cellular pathways, and demonstrate age-dependent dynamic changes in expression profiling.
beta-escin inhibits tobacco carcinogen-induced lung tumor formation by modulating ALDH1A1-positive cells and RhoA (show RHOA Proteins)/Rock signaling
The protein encoded by this gene belongs to the aldehyde dehydrogenase family. Aldehyde dehydrogenase is the next enzyme after alcohol dehydrogenase in the major pathway of alcohol metabolism. There are two major aldehyde dehydrogenase isozymes in the liver, cytosolic and mitochondrial, which are encoded by distinct genes, and can be distinguished by their electrophoretic mobility, kinetic properties, and subcellular localization. This gene encodes the cytosolic isozyme. Studies in mice show that through its role in retinol metabolism, this gene may also be involved in the regulation of the metabolic responses to high-fat diet.
