    Background
Prepronociceptin, also known as PNOC, is the ligand of the opioid receptor-like receptor (OPRL1). It may act as a transmitter in the brain by modulating nociceptive and locomotor behavior. This protein may be involved in neuronal differentiation and development. Recombinant human PNOC protein, fused to His-tag at N-terminus, was expressed in E.coli.
