Eif3ba has a role in regulating cranial neural crest development by modulating p53 (show TP53 ELISA Kits) in zebrafish
The human eIF3b and octameric eIF3a (show EIF6 ELISA Kits) subunits serve as the nucleation core around which other subunits assemble in an ordered way into two interconnected modules: the yeast-like core and the octamer.
eIF3 (show EIF3A ELISA Kits) has a role in controlling cell size independently of S6K1 (show RPS6KB1 ELISA Kits)-activity
Novel RNA-binding protein (show PTBP1 ELISA Kits) P311 (show C5orf13 ELISA Kits) binds eIF3b to promote translation of TGF-beta1 (show TGFB1 ELISA Kits), TGF-beta2 (show TGFB2 ELISA Kits), TGF-beta3 (show TGFB3 ELISA Kits).
Report EIF3B binding within the IRES domain V of the coxsackie virus B3 mutant strain.
eIF3b expression relates to human bladder and prostate cancer prognosis, is required for tumor growth, and thus a candidate therapeutic target.
EIF3B promotes the proliferation of U87 human glioblastoma cells and may play an important role in human glioblastoma development.
Yeast eIF3b exhibits RNA binding activity but huamn eIF3b doesn't.
a conserved tryptophan residue in the human eIF3j (show EIF3S1 ELISA Kits) N-terminal acidic motif (NTA) is held in the helix alpha1 and loop 5 hydrophobic pocket of the human eIF3b RNA recognition motif (RRM)
structural analysis of the eIF3b RNA recognition motif and its interaction with eIF3j (show EIF3S1 ELISA Kits)
results indicate that p116 plays an essential role in the early stages of mouse development[eIF3 p116]
Component of the eukaryotic translation initiation factor 3 (eIF-3) complex, which is required for several steps in the initiation of protein synthesis. The eIF-3 complex associates with the 40S ribosome and facilitates the recruitment of eIF-1, eIF-1A, eIF-2:GTP:methionyl-tRNAi and eIF-5 to form the 43S preinitiation complex (43S PIC). The eIF-3 complex stimulates mRNA recruitment to the 43S PIC and scanning of the mRNA for AUG recognition. The eIF-3 complex is also required for disassembly and recycling of posttermination ribosomal complexes and subsequently prevents premature joining of the 40S and 60S ribosomal subunits prior to initiation (By similarity).
