RBFOX proteins can facilitate the splicing of micro-exons. We also found that PTBP1 (show PTBP1 Antibodies) likely regulates the inclusion of micro-exons, possibly by repressing the inclusion of micro-exons that are enhanced by RBFOX proteins and other splicing factors.[RBFOX]
CPSF2 (show CPSF2 Antibodies) and SYMPK (show SYMPK Antibodies), are RBFOX2 cofactors for both inclusion and exclusion of internal exons.
RBFOX2 SNPs showed evidence for effects across multiple reading and language traits.
Results show that the conserved Rbfox2 RNA binding protein regulates 30% of the splicing transitions observed during myogenesis and is required for the specific step of myoblast fusion.
MBNL1 (show MBNL1 Antibodies) and RBFOX2 cooperate to establish a splicing programme involved in pluripotent stem cell differentiation.
RBFOX2 polymorphism is associated with breast cancer.
RBFOX2 drives mesenchymal tissue-specific splicing in both normal and cancer tissues.
FOX-2 is involved in splicing of ataxin-2 (show ATXN2 Antibodies) transcripts and that this splicing event is altered by overexpression of ataxin-1 (show ATXN1 Antibodies)
functional significance of EMT (show ITK Antibodies)-associated alternative splicing depletion of RBFOX2 in mesenchymal cells
This study characterizes the mechanism by which RBFOX2 regulates protein 4.1R (show EPB41 Antibodies) exon 16 splicing through the downstream intronic element UGCAUG.
Gain- and loss-of-function experiments demonstrated that Rbfox1 (show A2BP1 Antibodies) and Rbfox2 cooperate in promoting Mef2D (show MEF2D Antibodies) splicing and subsequent myogenesis.
an unexpectedly broad and multilayer regulatory network controlled by Rbfox2 and offer an explanation for how autoregulatory splicing networks are tuned
During an EMT (show ITK Antibodies), Rbfox2-regulated splicing shifts from epithelial-to mesenchymal-specific events.
Rbfox2 protein controls a post-transcriptional program required for proper brain development.
the negative regulation of Rbfox2 by Rbfox3 (show RBFOX3 Antibodies) through a novel mechanism
The present study provides evidence that alternative neuronal nPTB (show PTBP2 Antibodies) and Fox-1 (show A2BP1 Antibodies)/Fox-2 isoforms are also produced in lenses
Fox-1 (show A2BP1 Antibodies) and Fox-2 isoforms specifically activate splicing of neuronally regulated exons, which requires UGCAUG enhancer elements
Data show that Rbfox1l and Rbfox2 have unique and redundant roles in splicing regulation.
This gene is one of several human genes similar to the C. elegans gene Fox-1. This gene encodes an RNA binding protein that is thought to be a key regulator of alternative exon splicing in the nervous system and other cell types. The protein binds to a conserved UGCAUG element found downstream of many alternatively spliced exons and promotes inclusion of the alternative exon in mature transcripts. The protein also interacts with the estrogen receptor 1 transcription factor and regulates estrogen receptor 1 transcriptional activity. Multiple transcript variants encoding different isoforms have been found for this gene.
