| Description | The FAS ligand (FASL, CD95), a member of the tumour necrosisfactor family, induces apoptosis in FAS-bearing cells. FASL is a type II membrane receptor with a soluble form that can be released into the extracellular fluid by proteolytic processing. Northern hybridisation revealed that Fas ligand is expressed in activated splenocytes and thymocytes, consistent with its involvement in T cell-mediated cytotoxicity and in several non lymphoid tissues, such as testis. |
| Specificity | GM5F4 recognises FASL transiently expressed on the cell surface of transfected BOSC cells (Fig. 1). |

Application Details
| Application Notes | GM5F4 has been tested for the use in flow cytometry and cell-ELISA. It is expected that the antibody will be suited for all applications where recognition of the native protein is required. A titration should be performed to determine the optimal concent |
