Additional Information
| Characteristics | Synonyms: AAV2 |
| Immunogen | Adeno-associated virus capsid proteins and virus particles. |
| Isotype | IgG1 (Matching secondary antibodies) |
| Clone | B1 |
| Specificity | Useful for Immunolocalization studies of capsid formation in combination with monoclonalantibody A20 (Cat. No. BM5010). B1 reacts with free VP 1, VP 2 and VP 3 ofadeno-associated virus and at a very reduced degree with assembled capsids. VP1 and VP2are highly enriched in the nucleus, while non-assembled VP3 is evenly distributed in thenucleus and the cytoplasm. Epitope mapping experiments (Wobus et al. , see below) identified aa726 to aa733(C-terminus, common to all 3 VP proteins) as the specific binding region. The antibody is also useful for characterization of different stages of infection. Reacts with AAV-2, found in human and monkey, and all published AAV serotypes (AAV-4only weak cross-reaction). Species Reactivity: Tested: Human and Monkey. |
Application Details
| Application Notes | Immunofluorescence Microscopy. Immunoprecipitation (mainly free VP proteins). Immunohistochemistry on Frozen Sections (Fixation: Acetone or formaldehyde). Working Dilution: 1/10 with PBS or Tris-buffered saline. Incubation Time: 1h at RT. Immunoblotting (Western Blot). Affinity Chromatography. Other applications not tested. Optimal dilutions are dependent on conditions and should be determined by the user. |
| Storage | Store the antibody at 2-8°C after reconstitution. Shelf life: One year from despatch. |
