Immunohistochemistry (Paraffin-embedded Sections) (IHC (p)), Immunohistochemistry (Frozen Sections) (IHC (fro))
  • Specificity

    Reacts to P504S Alpha-Methylacyl-CoA Racemace.
    Cellular Localization: Cytoplasmic.

    Purification

    Purified

    Immunogen

    A synthetic human AMACR peptide.
  • Application Notes

Immunohistochemistry on Formalin-Fixed Paraffin Embedded Sections: 1/25-1/50 in anABC method (30 minutes at room temperature). Formalin fixed paraffin embedded tissue sections require high temperature antigenunmasking with 10 mM citrate buffer, pH 6.0 prior to immunostaining. Recommended Positive Control: Prostate carcinoma.
    Other applications not tested.
Optimal dilutions are dependent on conditions and should be determined by the user.

    Background

P504S (AMARC) has been recently described as prostate cancer-specific gene that encodes a protein involved in the beta-oxidation of branched chain fatty acids. Expression of P504S protein is found in prostatic adenocarcinoma but not in benign prostatic tissue. It stains premalignant lesions of prostate: high-grade prostatic intraepithelial neoplasia (PIN) and atypical adenomatous hyperplasia. P504S can be used as a positive marker for PIN.Synonyms: 2-methylacyl-CoA racemase, Alpha-methylacyl-CoA racemase, P504S
