  • Application Notes

Immunohistochemistry with formalin fixed paraffin embedded tissues: 24 - 36 μg/mL. Antigen retrieval: Steam slides in 0.01 M sodium citrate buffer, pH 6.0, at 99-100 °C for 20 min. Remove from heat and let stand at room temperature in buffer for 20 min. Rinse in 1x TBS with Tween (TBST) for 1 min. at room temperature.
    Other applications not tested.
Optimal dilutions are dependent on conditions and should be determined by the user. Further Comments: This product was originally produced by MBL International. F4/80 is a monoclonal antibody that recognizes a murine macrophage- restricted cell surface glycoprotein whose amino acid sequence has been determined to be the EMR1 gene. Therefore, the data from this antibody can be used to derive gene expression of mouse EMR1.

    Alternative Name

    EMR1 / TM7LN3

    Background

EGF-Like Module Containing Mucin-Like Hormone Receptor-Like Sequence 1 (EMR1) is characterized as an Orphan-B GPCR with an unknown ligand. The C-terminus contains seven hydrophobic segments, characteristic of a G protein-coupled receptor. The N-terminus of EMR1 has 6 EGF-like modules, separated from the transmembrane segments by a serine/threonine-rich domain, a feature reminiscent of mucin-like, single-span, integral membrane glycoproteins with adhesive properties. EMR1 has been reported to be expressed in human peripheral blood mononuclear cells, monocytes, and hematopoietic and solid tumor-derived cell lines. ESTs have been isolated from human normal spleen and mixed liver/spleen libraries and from human kidney, colon, brain, and bone marrow cancer libraries.Synonyms: Cell surface glycoprotein EMR1, EGF-like module-containing mucin-like hormone receptor-like 1, EMR1 hormone receptor
