Additional Information

Alternative name CDw198 / CCR8
Swiss-Prot P51685
Immunogen Synthetic peptide - KLH conjugated
Description CCR8, a Chemokine Receptor, binds the CC-chemokine I-309, which is secreted by umbilical vein endothelial cells. CCR8 also binds viral monocyte inflammatory protein-I (vMIP-I), which is induced by Kaposi sarcoma-related human herpesvirus-8. CCR8 induces endothelial chemotaxis and may function as an HIV-1 co-receptor on primary human cells, contributing to HIV-1-induced thymic pathogenesis. CCR8 expression has been reported in spleen and thymus, natural-killer cells, monocytes, and T cells, and at lower levels in peripheral blood leukocytes. Increased expression has been seen in allergen-challenged atopic asthma. No CCR8 expression was found in mesangial cells of the kidney cortex. ESTs have been isolated from human normal kidney, eye, and B cell/lung/testis libraries and from human brain, germ cell, and pancreas cancer libraries. Alternate Names: CDW198, CKR-L1, CKRL1, CMKBR8, CMKBRL2, CY6, GPR-CY6, GPRCY6, MGC129966, MGC129973, TER1, CC-CKR-8, c-c ckr-8, cc-ckr-8, ccr8, chemokine c-c motif receptor 8, chemokine c-c receptor-like 2, chemr1, ckr-l1, cmkbr8, cmkbrl2, gpr-cy6, gprcy6, ter1.
Specificity Reacts with C-C Chemokine Receptor 8 (CCR8) (family: GPCR, subfamily: Chemokine). The immunizing peptide shows 33 % identity (39 % similarity) with mouse

Application Details

Application Notes Immunohistochemistry with formalin fixed paraffin embedded tissues: 28 ug/ml Antigen retrieval: Steam slides in 0.01 M sodium citrate buffer, pH 6.0, at 99-100°C for 20 min. Remove from heat and let stand at room temperature in buffer for 20 min. Rinse in 1x TBS with Tween (TBST) for 1 min. at room temperature. Other applications not tested. Optimal dilutions are dependent on conditions and should be determined by the user. Further Comments: This product was originally produced by MBL International.
Concentration 1.0 mg/ml
Buffer PBS, pH 7.7, containing 0.01% sodium azide
Storage Store the antibody undiluted at 2-8°C for one month or (in aliquots) at -70°C for longer. Avoid repeated freezing and thawing. Shelf life: one year from despatch.
