Description
F-box only protein 9(also called FBOX9 and Fbp9) is a member of theF-box protein family, which is characterized by anapproximately 40 amino acid motif, the F-box. TheF-box proteins constitute one of the four subunitsof the ubiquitin protein ligase complex called SCFs(SKP1-cullin-F-box), which function inphosphorylation-dependent ubiquitination. The F-box proteins are divided into 3 classes: Fbwscontaining WD-40 domains, Fbls containingleucine-rich repeats, and Fbxs containing eitherdifferent protein-protein interaction modules or norecognizable motifs. The protein encoded by this gene belongs to the Fbxs class. Alternative splicing of this gene generates at least 3 transcript variants diverging at the5' terminus. Isoform 1 is distinct from isoforms 2 and 3 at the N-terminus.

Specificity
This affinity-purified antibody is directed against human FBOX9 protein. The product wasaffinity purified from monospecific antiserum by immunoaffinity purification. A BLAST analysis was used to suggestcross reactivity with FBOX9 protein from human, dog, rat and chimpanzee based on 100% homology with theimmunizing sequence. Expect partial reactivity with homologues from zebrafish, bovine and mouse (94% homology) aswell as chicken (88%) and Xenopus laevis (82%). Reactivity is expected against all known isoforms of this protein, asthe immunogen sequence is common to their carboxy-terminal ends. Reactivity against homologues from othersources is not known.
