Subcellular localizationand [3H]palmitic acid labeling in Escherichia coli revealed that FrpD is synthesized with atype II signal peptide for export across the cytoplasmic membrane and is, upon processingto a lipoprotein, sorted to the outer bacterial membrane. |
| Specificity | The polyclonal antibody reacts with Orf1 (FrpD), a 28 - 32 kDa Neisseria meningitidis outermembrane lipoprotein. Orf1 is highly conserved in a set of meningococcal strainsrepresentative of all serogroups and does not exhibit any similarity to known sequences ofother organisms. |
