- SLC2A8 (Solute Carrier Family 2 (Facilitated Glucose Transporter) Member 8 (SLC2A8))
-
Alternative Name
- GLUT8
-
Background
- Most mammalian cells transport glucose through a family of membrane proteins known as glucose transporters. Glut isoforms differ in their tissue expression, substrate specificity and kinetic characteristics. Glut-8 (mouse 477-aa) is found in adult testis and placenta.
