    N-Term

    Purpose

    Rabbit antibody to GAP 43

    Specificity

    Specific for GAP-43.

    Cross-Reactivity

    Human, Mouse, Rat

    Cross-Reactivity (Details)

    Other species not yet tested.

    Purification

    IgG

    Immunogen

A synthetic peptide from the n-terminal region of human Axonal membrane protein GAP-43 (Neuromodulin growth-associated protein 43) conjugated to an immunogenic carrier protein was used as the antigen. The peptide is homologous in rat mouse zebra fish and chicken.

    Isotype

    IgG
  • Application Notes

IHC. A concentration of 10-50,micro,g,ml is recommended. The optimal concentration should be determined by the end user.

    Restrictions

    For Research Use only
  • Format

    Lyophilized

    Reconstitution

Reconstitute in 500 µl of sterile water. Centrifuge to remove any insoluble material.

    Handling Advice

    Avoid freeze and thaw cycles.

    Storage

    4 °C,-20 °C

    Storage Comment

Maintain the lyophilised/reconstituted antibodies frozen at -20°C for long term storage and refrigerated at 2-8°C for a shorter term. When reconstituting glycerol (1:1) may be added for an additional stability. Avoid freeze and thaw cycles.

    Expiry Date

    12 months
  • Target

    GAP43 (Growth Associated Protein 43 (GAP43))

    Alternative Name

    GAP 43

    Background

FUNCTION: This protein is associated with nerve growth. It is a major component of the motile "growth cones" that form the tips of elongating axons. SUBUNIT: Binds calmodulin with a greater affinity in the absence of Ca(2+) than in its presence. SUBCELLULAR LOCATION: Cell membrane, Peripheral membrane protein, Cytoplasmic side. Cell projection growth cone membrane, Peripheral membrane protein, Cytoplasmic side. Cell junction synapse. Note: Cytoplasmic surface of growth cone and synaptic plasma membranes.
