Additional Information

Characteristics Synonyms: TyrRS, Tyrosyl-tRNA synthetase cytoplasmic, Tyrosyl-tRNA ligase
Gene ID 8565
Swiss-Prot P54577
Immunogen This antibody is generated from rabbits immunized with a KLH conjugated syntheticpeptide selected from the C-terminal region of human YARS.
Cross-Reactivity Human
Isotype Ig  (Matching secondary antibodies)
Description Aminoacyl-tRNA synthetases catalyze the aminoacylation of tRNA by their cognate aminoacid. Because of their central role in linking amino acids with nucleotide triplets containedin tRNAs, aminoacyl-tRNA synthetases are thought to be among the first proteins thatappeared in evolution. Tyrosyl-tRNA synthetase belongs to the class I tRNA synthetasefamily. Cytokine activities have also been observed for the human tyrosyl-tRNA synthetase, after it is split into two parts, an N-terminal fragment that harbors the catalytic site and aC-terminal fragment found only in the mammalian enzyme. The N-terminal fragment is aninterleukin-8-like cytokine, whereas the released C-terminal fragment is an EMAP II-likecytokine.
Specificity This antibody reacts to Tyrosyl tRNA synthetase (YARS). Species: Human. Others not tested.
