Description
|
This nonactivating protein which could be a repressor, binds the sequence5'-ATCAATCAA-3'. It is converted into a potent transcriptional activator by the (1,19)translocation. PBX1 May have a role in steroidogenesis and subsequently sexualdevelopment and differentiation, and is expressed in all tissues except in cells of the Band T lineage. PBX1 is involved in a form of pre-B-cell acute lymphoblastic leukemia (B-ALL)(25% of human pediatric cases) through a chromosomal translocation t(1,19)(q23,p13. 3)which involves PBX1 and E2A genes. E2A-PBX1 transforms cells by constitutively activatingtranscription of genes regulated by PBX1 or by other members of the PBX protein family. PBX1 belongs to the TALE/PBX homeobox family, and contains 1 homeobox domain.

Peptide ELISA: Detection Limit: 1/32000. Western blot: 0.5-1.5 µg/ml. Detects a band of Approx 45kDa in lysates of cell line K562. Other applications not tested.
