dual oxidase Udx1 has a role in the oxidative burst at fertilization
The duox expression in zebrafish during early nervous system development from 12 to 48 hours post fertilization.
The results reveal a crucial role for TNFalpha (show TNF ELISA Kits)/TNFR2 (show TNFRSF1B ELISA Kits) axis in the protection of the skin against DUOX1-mediated oxidative stress.
extracellular ATP acting as an early danger signal is responsible for the activation of Duox1 via a P2YR/PLC (show PLC ELISA Kits)/Ca(2 (show CA2 ELISA Kits)+) signaling pathway and the production of H2O2
Zebrafish duox is highly expressed in intestinal epithelial cells. Knockdown of Duox impaired larval capacity to control enteric Salmonella infection.
Authors demonstrate here that DUOX1 is silenced in breast cancer, which seems to be involved in breast carcinogenesis.
Silencing DUOX1 by siRNA attenuated IL-13-mediated increases in superoxide, but did not reduce autophagy activities.
We analyzed the expression of NADPH oxidase (show NOX1 ELISA Kits) isoforms and found both A431 and HaCaT cells to express the calcium-sensitive NADPH oxidase (show NOX1 ELISA Kits), Dual oxidase 1 (Duox1) and its protein partner Duox activator 1 (DuoxA1).Our observations provide evidence for a new signaling paradigm in which changes of intracellular calcium concentration are transformed into redox signals through the calcium-dependent activation of Duox1.
DUOX1 missense mutation plays a role in congenital hypothyroidism.
Our findings implicate epithelial DUOX1 as a pivotal mediator of IL-33 (show IL33 ELISA Kits)-dependent activation of innate airway type 2 immune responses to common airborne allergens and indicate that enhanced DUOX1 expression and IL-33 (show IL33 ELISA Kits) secretion might present important contributing features of allergic asthma.
Cox multivariate regression analysis demonstrated that DUOX1, GLS2, FBP1 and age were independent risk factors for the prognosis of HCC patients after surgery
DUOX1 expression in liver tumors is a potential prognostic tool for patients.
Nox4 (show NOX4 ELISA Kits) and Duox1/Duox2 mediate redox activation of mesenchymal cell migration by PDGF (show PDGFA ELISA Kits).
These data reveal a key role of DUOX1-dependent hydrogen peroxide production in long-term persistent radio-induced DNA damage.
Studies demonstrate the importance of DUOX1 in epithelial redox signaling through reversible S-glutathionylation of a range of proteins, including proteins involved in cytoskeletal regulation and MAPK (show MAPK1 ELISA Kits) signaling pathways involved in cell migration.
Reactive Oxygen Species levels were elevated and DUOX1 expression was increased 70-fold in OVA-allergen challenged lungs.
Data, including data from studies using transgenic mice, suggest that over-expression of IL4 (interleukin 4) in thyroid tissue/cells up-regulates expression of Duox1 (dual oxidase 1), Duoxa1 (dual oxidase maturation factor 1), and Slc26a4 (pendrin) in thyroid tissue/cells; expression of Slc5a5 (sodium-iodide symporter) is down-regulated.
Redox-dependent regulation of EGFR (show EGFR ELISA Kits) activation in airway epithelial cells was found to strongly depend on activation of either DUOX1 or NOX2 (show CYBB ELISA Kits).
findings suggest that LPS (show TLR4 ELISA Kits)-TLR-4 (show TLR4 ELISA Kits)-induced KC or MIP-2 (show CXCL2 ELISA Kits) cytokine induction and subsequent neutrophil recruitment in the airway does not require DUOX-derived hydrogen peroxide from airway epithelium
These findings suggest that DUOX-derived H2O2 has an important role in signaling neutrophils into allergic airways
PA-LPS (show TLR4 ELISA Kits)-induced MUC5AC and Clca3 expression is partly through Duox1
In vivo DUOX1 silencing significantly suppressed naphthalene-induced activation of STAT3 (show STAT3 ELISA Kits).
Urothelial cells produce hydrogen peroxide through the activation of Dual oxidase 1
The protein encoded by this gene is a glycoprotein and a member of the NADPH oxidase family. The synthesis of thyroid hormone is catalyzed by a protein complex located at the apical membrane of thyroid follicular cells. This complex contains an iodide transporter, thyroperoxidase, and a peroxide generating system that includes proteins encoded by this gene and the similar DUOX2 gene. This protein is known as dual oxidase because it has both a peroxidase homology domain and a gp91phox domain. This protein generates hydrogen peroxide and thereby plays a role in the activity of thyroid peroxidase, lactoperoxidase, and in lactoperoxidase-mediated antimicrobial defense at mucosal surfaces. Two alternatively spliced transcript variants encoding the same protein have been described for this gene.
