the crystal structure, at 2.7 A resolution, of CIA (show NCOA5 Proteins)-I in complex with histones H3 and H4
These results uncover a novel role of CENP-F (show CENPF Proteins) in regulation of epigenetic modification on histone H3 (show HIST3H3 Proteins).
CREB controls MSK1-mediated phosphorylation of histone H3 at the c-fos promoter in vitro
Extreme divergence in CENH3 (show CENPA Proteins) protein sequence does not alter centromere location in Arabidopsis.
Arabidopsis KNL2 (show MIS18BP1 Proteins) colocalizes with cenH3 (show CENPA Proteins) and is associated with centromeres during all stages of the mitotic cell cycle, except from metaphase to mid-anaphase.
Reduced endogenous CENH3 (show CENPA Proteins) and lack of meiotic incorporation of EYFP-CENH3 (show CENPA Proteins)(C) lead to reduced fertility caused by insufficient CENH3 (show CENPA Proteins) loading to the centromeres of meiotic chromosomes, subsequent lagging of chromosomes and formation of micronuclei.
Silencing of the AtTERT (show TERT Proteins) gene is associated with increased H3K27me3 loading and maintenance of its euchromatic environment.
CENH3 (show CENPA Proteins) is expressed in dividing tissues and is CENH3 (show CENPA Proteins) is transcriptionally regulated by E2F/DP (show E2F1 Proteins) transcription factors.
Deposition of Arabidopsis CENH3 (show CENPA Proteins) takes place at centromeres during G2.
Meiosis-specific loading of the centromere-specific histone CENH3 (show CENPA Proteins) in Arabidopsis thaliana
study concludes that CENH3 (show CENPA Proteins) function in A. thaliana, an organism with large tandem repeat centromeres, has stringent requirements for functional complementation in mitosis
Alignment of CENH3 (show CENPA Proteins) sequences revealed that the tested species share only three amino acids at loop1 region: threonine2, arginine12 and alanine15
cenh3 (show CENPA Proteins) null mutants expressing altered CENH3 (show CENPA Proteins) proteins are crossed to wild type, chromosomes from the mutant are eliminated, producing haploid progeny
Histones are basic nuclear proteins that are responsible for the nucleosome structure of the chromosomal fiber in eukaryotes. This structure consists of approximately 146 bp of DNA wrapped around a nucleosome, an octamer composed of pairs of each of the four core histones (H2A, H2B, H3, and H4). The chromatin fiber is further compacted through the interaction of a linker histone, H1, with the DNA between the nucleosomes to form higher order chromatin structures. This gene is intronless and encodes a member of the histone H3 family. Transcripts from this gene lack polyA tails\; instead, they contain a palindromic termination element. This gene is found in the large histone gene cluster on chromosome 6p22-p21.3.
