These data indicate that secretome derived from salivary gland cancer cells can influence the expression of two potential biomarkers of oral cancer-namely, bone sialoprotein (show CRISP1 Proteins) (BSP (show KLK6 Proteins)) and dentin sialoprotein (DSP (show DSPP Proteins))-in normal salivary gland cells.
In conclusion, serum levels of BSP, ALP, ICTP, and PSA increased in patients with bone metastases, and combined detection of all markers could improve the positive-predictive value.
Preameloblast-Derived Factors Mediate Osteoblast Differentiation of Human Bone Marrow Mesenchymal Stem Cells by Runx2 (show RUNX2 Proteins)-Osterix (show SP7 Proteins)-BSP (show KLK6 Proteins) Signaling.
Two significant SNPs within IBSP, rs1054627 and rs17013181, were associated with BMD (show BEST1 Proteins) and postmenopausal osteoporosis by the two-stage strategy, and rs17013181 was also significantly associated with serum IBSP levels.
Our results suggest that SSEA (show MPST Proteins)-4 is a specific cell surface antigen (show CD53 Proteins) that can be used to identify dental pulp stem cells.
the strong correlation between bone sialoprotein (show CRISP1 Proteins) and OPN (show SPP1 Proteins) and papillary thyroid carcinoma suggests a role for BSP (show KLK6 Proteins) and OPN (show SPP1 Proteins) in calcification and tumor progression of papillary thyroid carcinoma
oxidized low-density lipoprotein-induced expression dependent on Runx2 (show RUNX2 Proteins) expression
Bone sialoprotein (show CRISP1 Proteins) could be a key mediator of the hypertrophic chondrocytes-induced angiogenesis of osteoarthritis.
Current evidence demonstrates that BSP (show KLK6 Proteins) and OPN (show SPP1 Proteins), play significant roles in bone metastasis of osteotropic malignancies derived from breast, prostate, lung, thyroid, and multiple myeloma. [review]
High expression of bone sialoprotein (show CRISP1 Proteins) in breast neoplasms was associated with cytokeratin (show KRT4 Proteins)-positive cells in bone marrow, but not with lymph node metastasis.
Data indicate that BSP (show KLK6 Proteins) is present in the calcified fibrocartilage of murine entheses and suggest that BSP (show KLK6 Proteins) plays a regulatory role in this structure, influencing the growth of the calcified fibrocartilage in addition to the weakening of the tendon mechanical properties.
Bone marrow ablation in BSP (show KLK6 Proteins)-/- mice is followed by a faster vascular and hematopoietic recolonization, along with lower medullary bone formation. Thus, lack of BSP (show KLK6 Proteins) affects the interplay between hematopoiesis, angiogenesis, and osteogenesis, maybe in part through higher expression of VEGF (show VEGFA Proteins) and the angiogenic SIBLING, OPN (show SPP1 Proteins).
a bone sialoprotein (show CRISP1 Proteins)-null bone microenvironment affects the hematopoietic system both quantitatively and qualitatively
full expression of either OPN (show SPP1 Proteins) or BSP (show KLK6 Proteins) is necessary for the anabolic effect of PTH (show PTH Proteins) at least in the ectopic calvaria injection model
BSP (show KLK6 Proteins) plays a non-redundant role in acellular cementum formation, likely involved in initiating mineralization on the root surface. Through its importance to cementum integrity, BSP (show KLK6 Proteins) is essential for periodontal function.
Lack of BSP (show KLK6 Proteins) affects both osteoclast formation and activity.
bone sialoprotein (show CRISP1 Proteins) has a role in neoplasm metastasis
BSP (show KLK6 Proteins) gene transcription is autoregulated in part by a positive feedback on its own promoter.
Bsp (show KLK6 Proteins) mRNA is expressed in developing testis cords and thus may contribute to testis differentiation
BSP (show KLK6 Proteins) contributes to RANKL (show TNFSF11 Proteins)-mediated bone resorption by inducing osteoclastogenesis and osteoclast survival and decreasing osteoclast apoptosis
The protein encoded by this gene is a major structural protein of the bone matrix. It constitutes approximately 12% of the noncollagenous proteins in human bone and is synthesized by skeletal-associated cell types, including hypertrophic chondrocytes, osteoblasts, osteocytes, and osteoclasts. The only extraskeletal site of its synthesis is the trophoblast. This protein binds to calcium and hydroxyapatite via its acidic amino acid clusters, and mediates cell attachment through an RGD sequence that recognizes the vitronectin receptor.
