Human Pinin, Desmosome Associated Protein (PNN) interaction partners

  1. Data suggest that SNRPA1 (show SNRPA Proteins), SNRPD1 (show SNRPD1 Proteins), and PNN are key players in the regulation of pluripotency-specific spliceosome assembly and the acquisition and maintenance of pluripotency.

  2. Pinin contributes to hepatocellular carcinoma progression and resistance to glucose deprivation-induced apoptosis via maintaining ERK1/2 activation

  3. Our findings suggested that PNN, as a valuable marker of prognosis, has important influence on the progression of colorectal cancer

  4. Pinin and CtBP (show CTBP2 Proteins) are oncotargets that closely interact with each other to regulate transcription and pre-mRNA alternative splicing and promote cell adhesion and other epithelial characteristics of ovarian cancer cells.

  5. These data suggest that lowering of PNN levels in epithelial cells results in dramatic transformation in the number and composition of splicing variants and that PNN plays a crucial role in the selection of which RNA isoforms differentiating cells produce.

  6. PNN has an important role in alternative splicing of a specific subset of lncRNAs of the corneal epithelium.

  7. ESRP1 (show ESRP1 Proteins) and PNN modulate alternative splicing of a specific subset of target genes, but not general splicing events, in HCET cells to maintain or enhance epithelial characteristics.

  8. Pinin functions as a splicing regulator (show PTBP2 Proteins) which participates itself directly in splicing reaction or indirectly via other components of splicing machinery

  9. Pnn may participate, via its interaction with RNPS1 (show RNPS1 Proteins), in mRNA metabolism in the nucleus, including mRNA splicing and export

  10. the interaction of Pnn with the corepressor CtBP1 (show CTBP1 Proteins) may modulate repression of E-cadherin (show CDH1 Proteins) transcription by CtBP1 (show CTBP1 Proteins)

Zebrafish Pinin, Desmosome Associated Protein (PNN) interaction partners

  1. pnn is essential for the maintenance of subsets of neural crest cells, and that in zebrafish proper cranial neural crest proliferation and differentiation are dependent on pnn expression.

Mouse (Murine) Pinin, Desmosome Associated Protein (PNN) interaction partners

  1. Pnn has an important role in alternative splicing of a specific subset of lncRNAs of the corneal epithelium.

  2. Pnn downregulation in skeletal muscle causes a muscular dystrophic phenotype associated with NEB deficiency and the CCD (show RUNX2 Proteins) domain is incapable of replacing full length Pnn in terms of functional capacity.

  3. Loss of Pnn induces apoptotic morphology in embryonic stem cells.

  4. The results suggest that astrocytes are unique among cell types of neuroblast origin in terms of expression Pinin protein.

  5. Pinin modulates expression of an intestinal homeobox (show PRRX1 Proteins) gene, Cdx2 (show CDX2 Proteins), and plays an essential role for small intestinal morphogenesis

  6. Spatial and temporal expression profile of pinin during mouse development.

  7. demonstrate abnormal activities of Tcf (show HNF4A Proteins)/Lef transcription factors, and alterations in beta-catenin (show CTNNB1 Proteins) level in multiple Pnn hypomorphic tissues

PNN Protein Profile

Protein Summary

Transcriptional activator binding to the E-box 1 core sequence of the E-cadherin promoter gene\; the core-binding sequence is 5'CAGGTG-3'. Capable of reversing CTBP1-mediated transcription repression. Component of a splicing-dependent multiprotein exon junction complex (EJC) deposited at splice junction on mRNAs. The EJC is a dynamic structure consisting of a few core proteins and several more peripheral nuclear and cytoplasmic associated factors that join the complex only transiently either during EJC assembly or during subsequent mRNA metabolism. Participates in the regulation of alternative pre-mRNA splicing. Associates to spliced mRNA within 60 nt upstream of the 5'-splice sites. Involved in the establishment and maintenance of epithelia cell-cell adhesion (By similarity).
