CR1L Proteins

(Complement Component (3b/4b) Receptor 1-Like (CR1L))
This gene encodes a membrane-bound inhibitor of complement activation, which contains several tandemly arranged short consensus repeats (SCRs) of approximately 60 amino acids. The encoded protein may play a role in tumor immune surveillance, which is unrelated to complement inhibition. Three alternatively spliced transcript variants encoding distinct isoforms have been found for this gene. [provided by RefSeq, Jul 2008].
