Description
Low density lipoprotein receptor-related protein-associated protein 1 (RAP) interacts withLRP1/alpha-2-macroglobulin receptor and glycoprotein 330. It is present on the cell surfaceforming a complex with the alpha 2 macroglobulin receptor heavy and light chains. BindsLRP1B, binding is followed by internalization and degradation. In complex with the alpha 2MR or gp330, it may have some role in the pathogenesis of membrane glomerularnephritis.

Characteristics
Synonyms: Alpha-2-MRAP, RAP, Alpha-2-macroglobulin receptor-associated protein, Low densitylipoprotein receptor-related protein-associated protein 1
Specificity
This antibody BM5054 (7F1) reacts with the 39 kDa RAP protein, which is cosynthesizedwith Human LRP/alpha2MR (low density lipoprotein receptor-relatedprotein/alpha2-Macro-Globulin Receptor). It inhibits the binding of ligands, e. g. tPA, uPA, VLDL, liproprotein lipase, andalpha2-Macroglobulin-proteinase complexes to LRP/A2MR. Species: Human. Others not tested.

Application Notes
Immunoblotting. Immunofluorescence. Immunohistochemistry: 1/20. Ligand-binding assays. Other applications not tested. Optimal dilutions are dependent on conditions and should be determined by the user.
