| Alternative name | Ezrin |
| Swiss-Prot | P15311 |
| Immunogen | BALB/C mice were immunized with a recombinant fragment of human ezrin correspondingto amino acid 362-585. |
| Isotype | IgG1 (Matching secondary antibodies) |
| Clone | 3C12 |
| Description | Ezrin serves as a tyrosine kinase substrate and is phosphorylated in EGF-stimulated cells. Ezrin is a cytoplasmic protein enriched in microvilli and other cell surfaces. Ezrin has anactin-binding capacity. Ezrin is expressed in epithelial cells but not in mesenchymal cells. Ezrin is also expressed by certain epithelial tumors, such as renal cell adenocarcinomas. |
| Specificity | This antibody reacts with a protein of 81 kD. Cellular Localization: Cell membraneSpecies: Human, Monkey, Cow, Kangaroo, Rat, Mouse, Hamster. Others not tested. |
Application Details
| Application Notes | Immunoprecipitation. Western blot: 1: 100-750. Immunohistochemistry on paraffin embedded sections: dilute 1: 50-1: 100 in an ABC method(30 minutes at room temperature). Recommended positive control: Lung. Other applications not tested. Optimal dilutions are dependent on conditions and should be determined by the user. |
| Storage | Store the antibody undiluted at 2-8°C for one month or (in aliquots) at -20°C for longer. Avoid repeated freezing and thawing. Shelf life: one year from despatch. |
| Research Area | Cancer, Cytoskeleton, Microfilaments |
| Restrictions | For Research Use only |
