Description
Glucose Oxidase is widely used for the determination of glucose in body fluids and inremoving residual glucose or oxygen from foods and beverages. Glucose Oxidaseproducing moulds such as Aspergillus and Penicillium species are used for the biologicalproduction of gluconic acid. CATALYTIC ACTIVITY: Beta D glucose + O2 = D glucono 1,5 lactone + H2O2.
Specificity
Assay by immunoelectrophoresis resulted in a single precipitin arc against purified andpartially purified Glucose Oxidase [Aspergillus niger]. Cross reactivity against Glucose Oxidase from other tissues and species may occur buthave not been specifically determined.
Application Notes
Suitable for Immunoblotting (Western or Dot blot), ELISA, Immunoprecipitation and mostimmunological methods requiring high titer and specificity. Recommended Dilutions: This product has been assayed against 1.0 ug of Glucose Oxidase[Aspergillus niger] in a standard sandwich ELISA using Peroxidase conjugated AffinityPurified anti-Rabbit IgG [H&L] (Rabbit) and ABTS(2,2'-azino-bis-[3-ethylbenthiazoline-6-sulfonic acid]) as a substrate for 30 minutes atroom temperature. A working dilution of 1: 4,000 to 1: 16,000 of the reconstitutionconcentration is suggested for this product. Other applications not tested. Optimal dilutions are dependent on conditions and should be determined by the user.
