Clone

BB7-2
  • Specificity

This antibody recognises the human HLA-A2 histocompatibility antigen. The epitope recognised by this antibody has been studied extensively and would appear to include the carboxy-terminus of the alpha-2 helix and a turn on one of the underlying beta strands. BB7.2 may be used for the Flow cytometric detection of HLA-A2 expression and has also been used for Immunoaffinity purification of HLA-A2 Molecules. Functionally the antibody is reported to inhibit MHC restricted cellular cytotoxicity.

    Purification

    Affinity Chromatography on Protein G

    Endotoxin Level

    Less than 0.01EU/μg

    Immunogen

Papain solubilised HLA-A2. Remarks: Spleen cells from immunised BALB/c mice were fused with cells of the mouse NS1 myeloma cell line.

    Isotype

    IgG2b
  • Application Notes

Flow cytometry (10 μg/mL): use 10 μL of of the suggested working dilution to label 10^6 cells or 100 μL whole blood. Immunoprecipitation. Functional assay (Inhibition of MHC resticted cytotoxicity): 5 - 10 μg/mL. Immunohistochemistry on frozen sections. Recommended positive control tissue: Tonsil.
    Other applications not tested.
Optimal dilutions are dependent on conditions and should be determined by the user.

    HLA-A2

    Alternative Name

    HLA Class I A-2 alpha / HLA-A2

    Target Type

    Influenza Protein

    Background

Human leukocyte antigens are highly polymorphic proteins that are involved in the presentation of antigens to the T cell receptor. There are two classes of HLA antigens, class I (HLA A, HLA B and HLA C) and class II (HLA D).Synonyms: A-2 alpha chain, HLA class I histocompatibility antigen, HLAA2, MHC class I antigen A-2
