Description: Human Adiponectin, also referred to as AdipoQ, Acrp30, apm-1 or GBP28, is a secreted protein expressed exclusively in differentiated adipocyte (an adipokine family member). Adiponectin contains a modular structure comprising an N-terminal collagenous domain followed by a C- terminal globular domain (gAcrp30). Adiponectin plays a role in various physiological processes such as energy homeostasis and obesity. Plasma levels of adiponectin are reduced in obese humans, and decreased levels are associated with insulin resistance and hyperinsulinemia. Application Notes: ELISA. Western blot (1:500 - 1:2,000), recommended starting dilution is 1:1000. Other applications not tested. Optimal dilutions are dependent on conditions and should be determined by the user.
