Additional Information

Alternative name MAD2L1
Gene ID NP_002349
Swiss-Prot Q13257
Immunogen This protein A purified monoclonal antibody was produced by repeated immunizations with full-lengthrecombinant human MAD2L1 protein.
Format Liquid (sterile filtered)
Isotype IgG1  (Matching secondary antibodies)
Description MAD2L1 (also called mitotic spindleassembly checkpoint protein, MAD2A, MAD2-like 1 andHsMAD2) is a component of the mitotic spindle assemblycheckpoint monitors the process of kinetochore-spindleattachment and delays the onset of anaphase when thisprocess is not complete. MAD2L1 inhibits the activity ofthe anaphase-promoting complex by sequesteringCDC20 until all chromosomes are aligned at themetaphase plate. MAD2L1 is related to the MAD2L2gene located on chromosome 1. This protein has anuclear localization. A MAD2 pseudogene has beenmapped to chromosome 14
Specificity This Protein A purified antibody is directed against human MAD2L1 protein. The product was purifiedfrom tissue culture supernatant by chromatography. This antibody has only been tested on human cells. Reactivity againsthomologues from other sources is not known.

Application Details

Application Notes This protein A purified antibodyhas been tested for use in immunoprecipitation and bywestern blot. This antibody is not applicable forimmunofluorescence microscopy. Specific conditions forreactivity should be optimized by the end user. Expect apredominant band at ~ 24 kDa corresponding to full-length protein by western blotting in the appropriate celllysate or extract.
