Description: BAFF (for B-cell activating factor belonging to the TNF family), a new member of the tumor necrosis factor (TNF) family was simultaneously identified by four different laboratories and named BAFF, TALL-1, THANK, zTNF4. It is abundantly expressed in monocytes and macrophages, upregulated by interferon gamma. Endogenous BAFF is processed intracellularly by a protease of the furin family of proprotein convertases. Secreted BAFF acts as a potent B cell growth factor. Recently, two receptors for BAFF have been identified and termed as BCMA and TACI.

Specificity: Recognizes the stalk region present in the membrane-bound form of human BAFF. Species Reactivity: Human, others not tested.

Application Details

Application Notes: Flow Cytometry: optimal concentration range is 0.5-5 µg/ml. Western blotting The optimal dilution for a specific application should be determined by the researcher.

Concentration: 1 mg/ml. Purity > 95% as determined by SDS-PAGE. The antibody was purified from concentrated hybridoma cell culture supernatant.

Buffer: 100 µg in PBS and 0.02% sodium azide.

Storage: Stable for at least 6 months when stored at 2 - 8 °C. Do not freeze/thaw.
