Specificity
- Recognizes human CD154, a 32kD glycoprotein also known as CD40 ligand. It is a member of the TNF family of molecules. It binds to CD40 and acts as a co-stimulatory molecule by activating antigen presenting cells, such as B cells. While CD154 is mostly found expressed on activated T cells, recognizes the soluble form of the protein. May be used to detect human soluble CD154 in ELISA assays.
