Description
Cytokeratins are a subfamily of intermediate filaments and characterized by remarkablebiochemical diversity. Cytokeratins are represented in epithelial tissues by at least 20different polypeptides, molecular weight between 40 kDa and 68 kDa. The individualcytokeratin polypeptides are designated 1 to 20 and divided into the type I (acidiccytokeratins 9-20) and type II (basic to neutral cytokeratins 1-8) families.Cytokeratins 10 and 13 both belong to type I family (acidic cytokeratins).
Specificity
The antibody DE-K13 reacts with Cytokeratin 10 (56.5 kDa) and Cytokeratin 13 (53 kDa).Cytokeratins are a member of intermediate filaments subfamily represented in epithelialtissues. DE-K13 recognizes only Cytokeratin 13 on formalin-fixed, paraffin-embedded tissuesections.

Application Notes
Western Blotting - Recommended dilution: 1-3 µg/ml. Immunohistochemistry (paraffin sections) - Staining technique: Standard ABC technique (DAB+). Recommended dilution: 10 µg/ml (1: 100) Positive tissue: tonsilPretreatment: 0.1% pepsin in 0.1 M HCl for 30 min at room temperature, or Target RetrievalSolution - High pH. Application note: The antibody DE-K13 reacts exclusively with Cytokeratin 13. Immunohistochemistry (frozen sections) - Recommended dilution: Use at an assay dependent dilution.
