Description
Phosphodiesterase 9A is a cGMP-specific phosphodiesterase. PDE9A activity is inhibitedby zaprinast, but it is insensitive to rolipram, vinpocetine, SKF-94120, dipyridamole, andIBMX. More than 20 alternatively spliced variants have been reported (Rentero et al. 2003). PDE9A has been implicated in penile erectile dysfunction, as well as in functionaldisturbances in which intraneuronal signal transmission via second messengers areimportant in the pathophysiology (example, bipolar affective disorder). PDE9A is the onlycGMP-specific PDE with significant expression in the forebrain, and as such is likely tofunction in NO-cGMP signaling.

Specificity
This antibody detects Phosphodiesterase 9A (PDE9A) at internal domain. Species: Human, Mouse, Rat. Others not tested.
Application Notes
Immunohistochemistry on paraffin sections (20 ug/ml). Antigen retrieval: Steam slides in 0.01 M sodium citrate buffer, pH 6.0, at 99-100C for 20min. Remove from heat and let stand at room temperature in buffer for 20 min. Rinse in 1xTBS with Tween (TBST) for 1 min. at room temperature. Other applications not tested. Optimal dilutions are dependent on conditions and should be determined by the user.
