  • Purpose

    Sheep antibody to Cofilin-1

    Specificity

    Specific for Cofilin-1.

    Cross-Reactivity

    Human, Mouse, Rat

    Cross-Reactivity (Details)

    Other species not yet tested.

    Purification

    IgG

    Immunogen

A synthetic peptide from the phospho Y140 & S156 of human Cofilin-1 (Cofilin non-muscle isoform) conjugated to blue carrier protein was used as the antigen. The antigen is homologous in rat mouse and monkey.

    Isotype

    IgG
  • Application Notes

IHC WB. A concentration of 10-50,micro,g,ml is recommended. The optimal concentration should be determined by the end user. This antibody may also recognice the unphosphorylated form. Not tested in other applications.

    Restrictions

    For Research Use only
  • Format

    Lyophilized

    Reconstitution

Reconstitute in 500 µl of sterile water. Centrifuge to remove any insoluble material.

    Handling Advice

    Avoid freeze and thaw cycles.

    Storage

    4 °C,-20 °C

    Storage Comment

Maintain the lyophilised/reconstituted antibodies frozen at -20°C for long term storage and refrigerated at 2-8°C for a shorter term. When reconstituting glycerol (1:1) may be added for an additional stability. Avoid freeze and thaw cycles.

    Expiry Date

    12 months
  • Target

    Cofilin (CFL1) (Cofilin 1 (CFL1))

    Alternative Name

    Cofilin-1

    Background

FUNCTION: Controls reversibly actin polymerization and depolymerization in a pH -sensitive manner. It has the ability to bind G- and F-actin in a 1:1 ratio of cofilin to actin. It is the major component of intranuclear and cytoplasmic actin rods. SUBCELLULAR LOCATION: Nucleus matrix. Cytoplasm cytoskeleton. Note: Almost completely in nucleus in cells exposed to heat shock or 10 % dimethyl sulfoxide. TISSUE SPECIFICITY: Widely distributed in various tissues.
