    Restrictions

    For Research Use only
  • Format

    Liquid

    Buffer

    50 mM Tris/1 mM MgCl2/50 % Glycerol, pH 8.0 containing 0.09 % Sodium Azide as preservative.

    Preservative

    Sodium azide

    Precaution of Use

WARNING: Reagents contain sodium azide. Sodium azide is very toxic if ingested or inhaled. Avoid contact with skin, eyes, or clothing. Wear eye or face protection when handling. If skin or eye contact occurs, wash with copious amounts of water. If ingested or inhaled, contact a physician immediately. Sodium azide yields toxic hydrazoic acid under acidic conditions. Dilute azide-containing compounds in running water before discarding to avoid accumulation of potentially explosive deposits in lead or copper plumbing.

    Handling Advice

Do not freeze! Freezing alkaline phosphatase conjugates will result in a substantial loss of enzymatic activity.
    Do not add Sodium azide.
Dilute only prior to immediate use
Each reagent is stable for the period shown on the bottle label if stored as directed.

    Background

Immunoglobulin G (IgG), is one of the most abundant proteins in human serum with normal levels between 8-17 mg/mL in adult blood. IgG is important for our defence against microorganisms and the molecules are produced by B lymphocytes as a part of our adaptive immune response. The IgG molecule has two separate functions, to bind to the pathogen that elicited the response and to recruit other cells and molecules to destroy the antigen. The variability of the IgG pool is generated by somatic recombination and the number of specificities in an individual at a given time point is estimated to be 10e11 variants.Synonyms: Rat Immunoglobulin G2c
