Description
|
GM-CSF is a hematopoietic growth factor that stimulates the development of neutrophilsand macrophages and promotes the proliferation and development of early erythroidmegakaryocytic and eosinophilic progenitor cells. It is produced in by endothelial cells,monocytes, fibroblasts and T-lymphocytes. GM-CSF inhibits neutrophil migration andenhances the functional activity of the mature end-cells. The human and murine moleculesare species-specific and exhibit no cross-species reactivity.

This antibody is specific to Human Granulocyte/Macrophage–Colony Stimulating Factor(GM-CSF)1-4. The BVD2-21C11 antibody has been reported to cross react with GM-CSF fromRhesus monkey. (This is a Neutralizing antibody). Species: Human. Others not tested.

ELISA Detection: Biotinylated Monoclonal antibody ABIN371617 is the preferreddetection antibody in a Sandwich ELISA for quantifying human GM-CSF protein levels. (Ref.1-4). It should be paired with purified withpurified recombinant human GM-CSF as the standard. Immunofluorescence/Flow Cytometry: This antibody is useful for Intracytoplasmic stainingand Flow Cytometric analysis to identify and enumerate GM-CSF-positive cells within mixedcell populations. Recombinant human GM-CSF (Cat#ABIN371618 should be used as a Specificity Control. Other applications not tested. Optimal dilutions are dependent on conditions and should be determined by the user.
