Background: CREB is a transcription factor that is a member of the leucine zipper family of DNA binding proteins. This protein binds as a homodimer to the cAMP-responsive element, (CRE), a sequence present in many viral and cellular promoters. The protein is phosphorylated by several protein kinases, and induces transcription of genes in response to hormonal stimulation of the cAMP pathway.

Western blot analysis of anti-Phospho-CREB-pS133 Pab (ABIN389547) in CEM cell line tissue lysate (35ug/lane).Phospho-CREB-pS133(arrow) was detected using the purified Pab (1:40 dilution).

Formalin-fixed and paraffin-embedded human cancer tissue reacted with the primary antibody, which was peroxidase-conjugated to the secondary antibody, followed by AEC staining. This data demonstrates the use of this antibody for immunohistochemistry. clinical relevance has not been evaluated. BC = breast carcinoma. HC = hepatocarcinoma.
