  • Application Notes

ELISA: Helicobacter pylori antibody (Clone 3C10) can be used as Detection antibody. In Sandwich ELISA, anti-HP CagA antibody clone 10E9 (Cat#ABIN452543) and anti-HPCagA antibody clone 5H10 (Cat#ABIN452544) coated wells match with HRP conjugatedclone 3C10 to detect the recombinant antigen. HRP conjugated 3C10 also selectively detected cell lysate of a CagA containing HP strainwhen clone 10E9 was used as coating antibody.
    Other applications not tested.
Optimal dilutions are dependent on conditions and should be determined by the user.

    Background

Helicobacter pylori (H. pylori), a spiral rod shaped gram-negative bacterium, is frequently found in the stomach. In infected populations, 10-20 % may develop gastritis and gastric ulcer and 1-2 % may develop cancer. The genome of H. pylori isolates from carriers with symptoms contains a 40kb pathogenicity island encoding H. pylori cytotoxin, cytotoxin associated gene A protein (CagA) and other virulence associated factors. CagA is used as a biomarker for virulent H. pylori strains.Synonyms: H. pylori
