Additional Information

Alternative name ADAR1 / DRADA
Gene ID ADAR
UniProt P55265
Immunogen The immunogen for anti-ADAR antibody: synthetic peptide directed towards the C terminal of human ADAR
Sequence RMGFTEVTPVTGASLRRTMLLLSRSPEAQPKTLPLTGSTF HDQIAMLSHR
Cross-Reactivity Human, Mouse (Murine), Rat (Rattus)
Format Lyophilized
Reconstitution Add 50 µl of distilled water. Final anti-ADAR antibody concentration is 1 mg/ml.
Description ADAR is responsible for RNA editing by site-specific deamination of adenosines. This enzyme destabilizes double stranded RNA through conversion of adenosine to inosine. Mutations in this gene have been associated with dyschromatosis symmetrica hereditaria. Alternate transcriptional splice variants, encoding different isoforms, have been characterized. This gene encodes the enzyme responsible for RNA editing by site-specific deamination of adenosines.
