findings reveal a novel signalling pathway involved in development of the semicircular canal system, and suggest a previously unrecognized role for NCS-1 (show NCS1 Antibodies) in mitochondrial function via its association with several mitochondrial proteins.
Data found that the pig adrenal medulla expressed predominantly TRPC1 (show TRPC1 Antibodies), TRPC5, and TRPC6 (show TRPC6 Antibodies) transcripts. The expression level of these TRPCs was significantly elevated in the adrenal medulla from pigs with metabolic syndrome.

TrpC5 causes a robust rise in [Ca2 (show CA2 Antibodies)+]i, enhanced Wnt5a (show WNT5A Antibodies) expression and nuclear translocation of beta-catenin (show CTNNB1 Antibodies), leading to reduced differentiation and enhanced cancer cell stemness.
These findings suggest identification of an important experimental tool compound, which has much higher potency for inhibiting TRPC1 (show TRPC1 Antibodies)/4/5 channels than previously reported agents, impressive specificity, and graded subtype selectivity within the TRPC1 (show TRPC1 Antibodies)/4/5 channel family.
that Arg-593, a residue located in the E4 loop near the TRPC5 extracellular Gd(3+) binding site, is critical for conferring the sensitivity to GPCR (show NMUR1 Antibodies)-Gq/11-PLC (show HSPG2 Antibodies)-dependent gating on TRPC5.
Transient receptor potential canonical 5 (TRPC5) protects against pain and vascular inflammation in arthritis and joint inflammation.
circulating exosome-carrying TRPC5 might act as a noninvasive chemoresistance marker and might serve as an adjuvant to the current imaging examination-based chemoresistance.
The essential role of TrpC5 in GLUT1 (show SLC2A1 Antibodies) induction and chemoresistance in colorectal cancer.
TrpC5 plays an important role in VEGF-mediated tumor angiogenesis, suggesting its potential clinical value for anti-angiogenesis therapy
TRPC5 mRNA and protein levels were up-regulated in focal cortical dysplasia cortical lesions.
Suppressing TrpC5 expression decreased nuclear beta-catenin (show CTNNB1 Antibodies) accumulation, reduced the induction of ABCB1 (show ABCB1 Antibodies), and reversed 5-fluorouracil neoplastic resistance.
These results indicate the contribution of heteromultimeric channels from TRPC1 (show TRPC1 Antibodies), TRPC4 (show TRPC4 Antibodies), and TRPC5 subunits to the regulation of mechanisms underlying spatial working memory and flexible relearning by facilitating proper synaptic transmission in hippocampal neurons.
that Arg-593, a residue located in the E4 loop near the TRPC5 extracellular Gd(3+) binding site, is critical for conferring the sensitivity to GPCR (show GPBAR1 Antibodies)-Gq/11-PLC (show HSPG2 Antibodies)-dependent gating on TRPC5.
novel functions of TRPC5 in regulating vascular aging
TRPC5 contributes to depolarization of the plasma membrane in gonadotropes upon GnRH (show GNRH1 Antibodies) stimulation and increases the intracellular Ca2 (show CA2 Antibodies)+ concentration via its own Ca2 (show CA2 Antibodies)+ permeability and via the activation of voltage-gated Ca2 (show CA2 Antibodies)+ channels.
the antidepressant and anxiolytic-like effects of a newly identified TRPC4 (show TRPC4 Antibodies)/C5 inhibitor, M084.
Riluzole can activate TRPC5 heterologously expressed in HEK293 cells as well as those endogenously expressed in the U-87 glioblastoma cell line.
Loss or inhibition of TRPC5 abrogates podocyte cytoskeletal remodeling, prevents Rac1 activation, & stabilizes synaptopodin (show SYNPO Antibodies). Genetic deletion or pharmacologic inhibition of TRPC5 protected mice from albuminuria.
the S4-S5 linker is a critical constituent of TRPC4 (show TRPC4 Antibodies)/C5 channel gating and that disturbance of its sequence allows channel opening independent of any sensor domain.
Is unaltered in TRPC5 KO mice, but is abolished in TRPC1 (show TRPC1 Antibodies) KO and TRPC1 (show TRPC1 Antibodies)/4 DKO mice.
Nitrix oxide can negatively modulate endogenous TRPC5-containing channels through an indirect mechanism.
analysis of a TRPC6 (show TRPC6 Antibodies)-TRPC5 channel cascade that restricts endothelial cell movement
This gene belongs to the transient receptor family. It encodes one of the seven mammalian TRPC (transient receptor potential channel) proteins. The encoded protein is a multi-pass membrane protein and is thought to form a receptor-activated non-selective calcium permeant cation channel. The protein is active alone or as a heteromultimeric assembly with TRPC1, TRPC3, and TRPC4. It also interacts with multiple proteins including calmodulin, CABP1, enkurin, Na(+)-H+ exchange regulatory factor (NHERF ), interferon-induced GTP-binding protein (MX1), ring finger protein 24 (RNF24), and SEC14 domain and spectrin repeat-containing protein 1 (SESTD1).
