  • Target

    HSF2 (Heat shock factor protein 2 (HSF2))

    Alternative Name

    Hsf2

    Background

Hsf2 is a DNA-binding protein that specifically binds heat shock promoter elements (HSE) and activates transcription. In higher eukaryotes, HSF is unable to bind to the HSE unless the cells are heat shocked. HSF2 is expressed in a form that binds DNA constitutively but loses DNA binding by incubation at greater than 41 degrees C.
