Product Details anti-CD90 Antibody

Specificity: This antibody recognises Mouse and Rat CD90 also known as Thy1.1. Thy1.1 is a monomorphic determinant in rat but polymorphic in mice. Clone T11D7e reacts with Thy1.1 mice e.g. AKR and FVB mice, but not Thy1.2 mice such as CBA and BALB/c. Clone T11D7e is useful for removal of T lymphocytes from cell populations by complement mediated cytotoxicity.

Purification: Ammonium Sulphate Precipitation

Immunogen: Xenogeneic rat thymocytes. Spleen cells from immunised CBA mice were fused with cells of the mouse NS1 myeloma cell line.

Application Details

Application Notes: Flow Cytometry: use 10 μL of 1/5 diluted antibody to label 10^6 cells in 100 μL. This productis routinely tested in flow cytometry using mouse thymocytes. Cytotoxic Assays.
Other applications not tested.
Optimal dilutions are dependent on conditions and should be determined by the user.

Background: CD90 (Thy1) antigen is a GPI linked glycoprotein member of the Immunoglobulin superfamily. It is expressed on murine T cells, thymocytes, neural cells, cells of granulocytic lineage, early hematopoietic progenitors, fibroblasts, neurons and Kupffer's cells. Thy1 may play a role in cell to cell or cell to ligand interactions during synaptogenesis and other events in the brain. It is found in most mouse strains except AKR/J, A, Thy1.1 and B6.PL (74NS) expressing Thy1.1Synonyms: CDw90, THY1, Thy-1, Thy-1 membrane glycoprotein
