- Background
- Sorcin (SR1) is a Ca2+-binding protein first identified in multidrug-resistant cells. This protein is widely distributed in mammalian tissues, including heart and skeletal muscle. At the subcellular level, sorcin localizes to T-tubule junctions of cardiac SR and co-localizes with brain ryanodine receptors in rat brain caudate-putamen nucleus.
