Purpose
- ATG7 is a protein encoded by the ATG7 gene which is approximately 77,9 kDa. ATG7 is localised to the cytoplasm. It is involved in the autophagy pathway, class I MHC mediated antigen processing and presentation, the HIV life cycle and oncogenic MAPK signalling. It is an E1-like activating enzyme that is essential for autophagy and transport from the cytoplasm to the vacuole. It is also thought to modulate p53-dependent cell cycle pathways during prolonged metabolic stress. ATG7 is expressed in the nervous system, liver, kidney, intestine and lung. STJ98914 was affinity-purified from rabbit antiserum by affinity-chromatography using epitope-specific immunogen. This antibody detects endogenous ATG7 protein.
