Recognizes the human Glial Fibrillary Acidic Protein, a 52kD intermediate filament protein. Expressed by astrocytes and to a lesser degree by ependymal cells, folliculostellate cells of the anterior pituitary and cerebellar radial glia. Does not react with other intermediate filaments. Species cross-reactivity: Human, porcine. Does not react with mouse or rat.
