Background
-
Voltage-gated K+ channel subunit KV9.2,KV9.2 is a member of the electrically silent voltage-gated K+ (KV). Ten KV silent subunits have been identified: KV5.1, KV6.1-KV6.4, KV8.1, KV8.2, and KV9.1-KV9.3. KV9.2 modulates the activity of KV2.1 and KV2.2 channels1,2. KV9.2 structure includes six transmembrane segments: S1-S6, positive residues on S4, the K+ signature sequence GYG on the pore loop between S5 and S6, and cytoplasmic N and C termini2.High KV9.2 expression level can be found in the olfactory bulb, cerebral cortex, hippocampal formation, habenula, basolateral amygdaloid nuclei, and cerebellum1.
