    Alternative Name

    WDR24

    Background

    Synonyms: GATOR2 complex protein WDR24|WD repeat-containing protein 24|WDR24|C16orf21

Background: As a component of the GATOR subcomplex GATOR2, functions as an activator of the amino acid-sensing branch of the TORC1 pathway(PubMed:23723238, PubMed:27166823). Inhibits the GATOR1 subcomplex, an inhibitor of the amino acid-sensing branch of the TORC1 pathway(PubMed:23723238). Functions downstream of and is regulated by amino acid sensors like SESN2(PubMed:26449471, PubMed:26586190). In addition to its role in regulation of the TORC1 complex, promotes the acidification of lysosomes and facilitates autophagic flux(PubMed:27166823).
